Essential Measures

Don’t think I’m one short story
I’m tales! So many tales!

Don’t take me for a mystery
I’m open! To be read!

Don’t think of me as “someone”
Or an “anyone” so small

I’m someone, I’m the one!
I’m your doubt, your many walls

Don’t take me for a prisoner
Or a slave you hold for keeps

I’m a spirit, ever free
I give love; but then I’ll flee

I’m an angel from above
I’m a whisper through the breeze

Don’t think of me as anything
Your someone; you could own!

That touch you could be having;
That kiss, that sweetest glance;

It’s yours and you can have it
So long as you don’t own it!

That tender sweetest heart,
That lovely soul of gold

It could be yours, a gift
A present very scarce

Don’t think of you as someone
If you do, I’m someone too

Don’t’ think of me as anyone
Don’t think that I’m like you!

I’m free; so very free
Like a verse that comes from heart

I flee, I’ll always flee
Like the way your heart departs

Do be you! Be yourself;
Your truest, sweetest self

Of lies, of much deception
I’m tired! Am in awe!

Believe in me, believe me
When I say it with much love

Do be your very self or else
You’re always someone else

    love these, this piece of very mind opening.🙂

    1. Well it is perhaps; but the sadness comes from the uncertainty of others you see. the “fleeing” takes place not because he lacks that commitment you spoke of, but because there simply isn’t ANY lover whom could receive the love he has; no one’s heart is big enough for him to fill…that’s why he always has to go, always has to leave…in the hope that he might find that lover who’d be worthy of his very pure love…that’s all🙂
      Thanks for taking the time to read and leave a comment as well🙂
