Living The Rain

It rains and it pours and it washes away my pains
I feign once more to rush through a smile as it rains

But it rains today, of the canines and the felines’ kind
Though I try to force a curve on my lip; it’s not that much; I know

Yet I try my best to break through, just to hold my sorrow back,
And I’m lucky; cause it’s pouring; cause it’s raining from the sky

But it’s funny how my lips don’t really budge and inch,
They have hardened in a flat line; their muscles way too stiff

I try; I really do, to merge a healthy curve up there,
It’s down there that’s been blocked; it’s my chest that doesn’t help

So I stop trying this very moment, I sit and listen to the rain,
It tells me stories as it pours down, it sings for me of pain

How it comes and goes and fades away,
And how it never really finds a way to stay

How the many souls and many hearts have tried to break away
And yet they’ve never found a way

“So my child” tells me the rain, “be the rain and be no pain”
“Just wash away all pain and try to stay the same down there”

“don’t you ever stay with pain
Cause the pain does go away”

“when the rain is here to stay;
But the rain does never stay!”

“And yet it takes away your pain
So just listen, have no pain”

Just listen!
Be the rain…

  1. What lovely imagery, Sina.. and such a beautiful thought… really!!
    “Though I try to force a curve on my lip; it’s not that much; I know” — Oh yes.. so often, we allow the troubles in our lives to rule us! Instead, if we fight fire with fire (and passion), those troubles will transform into blessings indeed..

    A very inspiring read, my friend… much liked!!

  2. “don’t you ever stay with pain
    Cause the pain does go away”

    “when the rain is here to stay;
    But the rain does never stay!”
